We are on the hunt for an experienced Consulting Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team in the construction industry.
As an integral part of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry, possess excellent communication skills, and have a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities:
1.
Perform daily financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording data.
2.
Prepare bills, invoices, and bank deposits.
3.
Conduct thorough reviews of potential financial discrepancies.
4.
Manage the processing of cash receipts, recording of revenue and receivables, and ensure that all work is in compliance with company policy.
5.
Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and correctly posted.
6.
Facilitate swift payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
7.
Generate financial statements and reports detailing.
8.
Maintain month-end account reconciliations, prepayments, accruals.
Qualifications:
1.
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
2.
Proven working experience as a Consulting Bookkeeper with a minimum of 2
years of experience in the construction industry.
3.
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
4.
Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
5.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
6.
Proficiency in English and in MS Office, particularly Excel.
7.
Knowledge of accounting software.
8.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate financial information to non-financial colleagues.
9.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
10.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11.
Professionalism and integrity when handling sensitive financial information.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
